See Flowers Bloom at the Dallas Arboretum

Do you enjoy seeing blooming flowers? Then feed your love for horticulture at the Dallas Arboretum. The gardens there are sure to put you in a good mood for the rest of your Dallas journey.

At the Dallas Arboretum, flowers are always blooming in the gardens. However, it is hard to describe exactly what you will see during your visit to the Dallas Arboretum because the changes in season do create changes in the color of the flowers in the gardens. Plus the varieties of flowers do change throughout the seasons.

When deciding to go to the Dallas Arboretum, make you sure have a picture-taking device to help you bring the beautiful images of the gardens home with you. You and your family are free to take snapshots in the gardens. Just make sure that you stay courteous to everyone else that is visiting the Dallas Arboretum in the process of doing so. Also, keep in mind that the bathrooms at the Dallas Arboretum are not for changing clothes. So be certain that the outfit you have on is the one you actually want to wear for your pictures in the gardens.

When visiting the Dallas Arboretum, it can be nice to bring in with you a picnic basket and a blanket. You are absolutely allowed to bring food from elsewhere into the Dallas Arboretum. So there is no need to just rely on the food available onsite. Just please do not forget to clean up after your picnic is done and over with.

The Six Flags Over Texas Rides

A Texas attraction that is suitable for people of all ages is the Six Flags Over Texas theme park. Situated about halfway between Fort Worth and Dallas, Six Flags Over Texas is only a mere 20 minute drive from both Texas cities. So go for that short car ride into Arlington for a full day of fun.

As with most other theme parks, the main thing to do at Six Flags Over Texas is to go on the rides. Experience the fear of riding a roller coaster into total darkness with the Runaway Mountain. Then find out why the Texas Giant was awarded with the vote for 2011’s best new ride.

Going with the whole family to Six Flags Over Texas? Defy gravity together on the Acme Rock-N-Rocket. Get wet on the Aquaman Splashdown. Then feel the rush of flying on the Batwing. Gather everyone at the top of the Oil Derrick for a viewing of both Fort Worth’s and Dallas’ skylines. Then allow everyone a turn at landing gently on the Texas Chute Out.

Want Six Flags Over Texas rides that were made for little kids? Try a fun boat ride on the Caddo Lake Barge. Then see the animated world come to life on Yosemite Sam’s Gold River Adventure.

Feel the need to allow your adrenaline levels to calm down a bit? Go to a Six Flags Over Texas show to feel entertained while taking a break from all the thrilling rides. Check out Heart of Texas. It features saloon girls and Texas cowboys in fun dance numbers.

Reunion Tower and the Five Sixty Restaurant

When you are driving around the city of Dallas, you can’t help but to see the Reunion Tower. That is because it is a tall tower that just begs to be seen. In fact, the Reunion Tower ranks in at number 15 when it comes to Dallas’ list of tallest buildings.

The Reunion Tower has been in Dallas since 1978. Initially, there was a radio station inside of the tower. Eventually, however, the radio station ceased to be at the Reunion Tower.

In 2009, the Reunion Tower opened again, after having been closed for two years due to renovations. It was during this time frame that Wolfgang Puck opened up one of his restaurants inside the Reunion Tower. Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant was named Five Sixty, in recognition of the height of the Reunion Tower.

Five Sixty is a nice place to take a romantic date. It is also great for guests who are from somewhere outside of Dallas. That is because dining at the Reunion Tower allows diners to get great views of downtown Dallas. Not only because of how highly elevated the Reunion Tower is, but also because of the fact that the dining room at Five Sixty revolves throughout dinner.

Interested in hosting a special event at the Reunion Tower? That can be arranged with the caterers of Wolfgang Puck. For your private event, you’ll be the one to decide whether or not the dining room is going to revolve. Also, you’ll get to have foods specifically catered to your liking.

Hike at the Cedar Ridge Preserve

Are you a Dallas citizen who loves to hike? Or are you visiting Dallas for a few days, and are hoping to find a nice hiking trail to spend some free time on? Then there is no need to search any further than the Cedar Ridge Preserve.

The Cedar Ridge Preserve is actually in the southern part of Dallas. It is close to the lake that goes by the name of Joe Poole. Also, it is in close proximity to the downtown area of Dallas.

Who manages the Cedar Ridge Preserve? That job belongs to Dallas’ Audubon Society. They seem to be doing a good job managing the Cedar Ridge Preserve, because the trails there are maintained with adequate care.

If you are going to the Cedar Ridge Preserve on the weekends, then be prepared to see a lot of other people there. Parking can be quite scarce on the weekends. Therefore, try to get there really early in order to snag a good parking spot.

When going hiking on a new trail, it is always a great idea to have a map of the trail with you during the hike. That way, you won’t find yourself literally lost in the woods. At the Cedar Ridge Preserve, the maps can be found at the kiosk that is right at the entrance. So grab one on your way into the Cedar Ridge Preserve.

If you accidentally forget to grab a map on your way in, don’t get too worried. The trails there are marked pretty clearly. So chances are high that you’ll be able to get through the hiking trail alright.

Experience Zero Gravity Thrill Park

Are you in need of some thrills and excitement? Head down to Dallas, and go to the Zero Gravity Thrill Park. The park will take you out of boredom, and have your adrenaline pumping in no time at all.

What is there to do at Zero Gravity Thrill Park? A lot of thrill rides for those who wish to do extreme things. Who can have fun at Zero Gravity Thrill Park? Anyone who is at least 10 can join in on all of the thrill park’s excitement.

Bungee jumping is an extreme activity that many hope to do before the day they die. If it is something that is on your bucket list, you should go to the Zero Gravity Thrill Park to cross it off of your list. At this Dallas park, you can do your bungee jump from a platform that is 7 stories high.

Want a thrilling activity that you can actually do with others? Try the Skycoaster. You can go on this ride with two of your closest friends. The Skycoaster takes you up to 110 feet, and then send you and your friends soaring at 60 miles per hour.

Is bungee jumping no longer doing it for you? Take it up another notch with the Nothin’ but Net ride at Dallas’ Zero Gravity Thrill Park. It is bungee jumping without the bungee. The net is the only thing to protect you from the fall. The good news is that it is a perfectly safe thrill ride. No one has yet to have gotten hurt at the Zero Gravity Thrill Park.

The Social House’s Stoplight Party

Are you still looking for something fun to do this weekend? How about going to a stoplight party? The Social House is having one this upcoming Saturday night.

Not familiar with what a stoplight party is? Well, it is actually a pretty neat concept where the party-goers proudly display their dating statuses. The Social House will be using napkins with different colors to do this. The red napkins are to be used by the folks who are not currently available. Greens napkins are reserved for the single folks. Meanwhile, yellow napkins signify relationship statuses that are a bit more complicated.

What is the point of a stoplight party? It makes finding a potential date a lot simpler. You no longer need to worry about approaching someone that is already attached to someone else. That saves you from wasting your precious time on someone who is unavailable. Plus it helps to prevent an embarrassing or uncomfortable conversation from happening.

The ideas behind a stoplight party are not just good for singles. It is also advantageous for people who are already in a relationship. It allows them to have fun at the party without having to fear people bothering them about phone numbers and things like that.

Have Fun Watching Viva Dallas Burlesque

If you want to experience something a little different in the city of Dallas, then try watching a burlesque show. The Viva Dallas Burlesque group has live performances once a month. So if you happen to be in town when one of the burlesque shows is going on, you should definitely check it out.

Viva Dallas Burlesque has their performances every month on the first Friday night. So that means if you do not go see their live performance tonight, you are going to have to wait another full month before having the opportunity to do so again. Every month, Viva Dallas Burlesque changes up their performance with different burlesque performers, costumes, and themes. Tonight’s show is entitled Gadgets & Gobstobbers: The Twisted World of Wonka.

As usual the Viva Dallas Burlesque show is going to be held at the Lakewood Theatre. If you are interested in buying tickets for their show, you can do so through the official website of Lakewood Theatre. It is $20 for every ticket into the burlesque show. The show officially starts at 9 pm, but you are free to come inside the theatre starting at 8 pm.
